Swatch commissioned a 200-meter-rated diver’s watch, prompting Jozeph Forakis to resolve the paradox of “serious” and “Swatch” through design. The Irony Scuba 200 introduced a three-dimensional language, shifting from graphic plastic to sculpted metal. Its form—a sporty reinterpretation of the classic Swatch—was crafted from a perfect sphere, featuring a seamless rotating bezel and a curved underside for added comfort. Even the packaging echoed this design purity, envisioned as a futuristic deep-sea time capsule honouring the watch within.
